Jason Dawe is a Sunday Times journalist and motor industry expert who draws on over 20 years of commercial experience to make him one of the UK’s leading conference speakers, hosts and facilitators.

The Personal life of Jason Dawe

An enthusiastic supporter of The Downs Syndrome Association and Great Ormond Street Hospital Jason has been involved in the Beaujolais Run charity car rally, from London to France, for the past three years and he has secured support for the event, which has raised more than £200,000, from his numerous industry contacts.

Originally from Cornwall, Jason now lives near Bath in the West Country where he runs a successful media production company, Bumper Media. He is married with two daughters. An avid rugby fan, Jason played in local teams until he suffered a broken leg during a match, he now puts his energies into supporting Bath and England. He is also the proud owner of a golden retriever called Tilly and a cocker spaniel called Molly, although he rather feels they believe they own him.

World diving champion Tom Daley, double world youth sprint gold medallist Jodie Williams and girls' junior US Open winner Heather Watson were chosen from a shortlist of 10. The 2008 award was won by swimmer Eleanor Simmonds, who won two gold medals at the Paralympics in Beijing. The three finalists were chosen by a panel chaired by John Inverdale. The panel members included Jake Humphrey, Helen Skelton, Ore Oduba, and previous Young Sports Personality of the Year winners Kate Haywood and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey.
