Gary Lineker is an accomplished TV Presenter and Awards Host. He retired from international football with 80 caps and 48 goals, one fewer than Bobby Charlton's England record.

Gary Lineker on TV and Radio

Following retirement from professional football, he developed a career in the media, initially on BBC Radio 5 Live, as a football pundit before replacing Des Lynam as the BBC's anchorman for football coverage, including their flagship football television programme Match of the Day. Gary was also a team captain on the acerbic sports game show, They Think It's All Over.

Lineker presented most of the 2006 World Cup matches for the BBC, chairing a panel of pundits which included Alan Hansen, Alan Shearer and Martin O'Neill.

Gary Lineker has appeared on Hell's Kitchen, The One Show, and Ant & Dec's Christmas Show in 2009. Alongside Christine Bleakley, he was also the co-presenter for BBC's Sport Relief 2010 and has made numerous personal appearances over the years, including Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in 2010.

10th March 2010The 2010 Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards, were held yesterday at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. Sir Terry Wogan was awarded the gong for Radio Personality at the awards and Barbara Windsor was presented with the TRIC Lifetime Achievement award. Tess Daly picked up the TV Reality Award for Strictly Come Dancing, Harry Hill won TV personality, and Oz Clarke and James May scooped the award for TV arts/documentary programme for Oz and James Drink to Britain.

14th December 2009ManU footballer Ryan Giggs was the surprise winner of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year held in Sheffield last night, beating the favourite Jenson Button. World diving champion Tom Daley won the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and comedian Eddie Izzard received a special award for running 43 marathons for charity. The awards ceremony was hosted by Sue Barker, Gary Lineker and Jake Humphrey

Young Sports Personality of the Year - the final three named
27th November 2009Tom Daley, Jodie Williams and Heather Watson will battle it out for the title of Young Sports Personality of the Year. World diving champion Tom Daley, double world youth sprint gold medallist Jodie Williams and girls' junior US Open winner Heather Watson were chosen from a shortlist of 10. The 2008 award was won by swimmer Eleanor Simmonds, who won two gold medals at the Paralympics in Beijing. The three finalists were chosen by a panel chaired by John Inverdale. The panel members included Jake Humphrey, Helen Skelton, Ore Oduba, and previous Young Sports Personality of the Year winners Kate Haywood and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey. The winner will be announced live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Sunday 13 December 2009.

Chrissie Wellington named Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year
4th November 2009Record-breaking triathlete and Ironman champion Chrissie Wellington has been named Sunday Times sportswoman of the year for 2009. The 32-year-old from Norfolk, who took her third straight Ironman world title last month, won the Sunday Times award after four weeks of online voting. Chrissie, a long-distance triathlon specialist who set a new world record time this year, beat Jessica Ennis, Britain's world heptathlon champion to the title. Cyclist Victoria Pendleton came third behind Chrissie and Jessica.
