Everywoman and NatWest polled 1,887 women in an attempt to reveal from where women derive their business inspiration and how great an influence the new phenomenon of ‘celebrity entrepreneurs’ has upon them.
Jacqueline Gold said: “I am extremely flattered. Ann Summers has revolutionised the high street and has become a national institution. We have always been a business for women run by women. I had no formal business training, so if I can be an inspiration to other women in business then that can only be a positive thing.”
Ann Summers, famous for its sexy lingerie and sex toys, boasts a sales force of over 7,500 women as party organisers (making it the largest party organisation in the UK), 136 high street stores, and one of the most successful internet sites, and annual sales of over £155 million.
