The consummate all round entertainer and showman, Bruce Forsyth has been in show business for over sixty years.  His career started at the age of 14 when he appeared as ‘Boy Bruce, The Mighty Atom’.  With talents for singing, dancing, playing the accordion, ukulele and banjo, and a natural comic timing, he spent years travelling the country, working seven days a week, doing summer seasons and pantomimes.

In the Beginning

In 1958 Bruce joined ‘Saturday Night At The London Palladium’, which made him into a national celebrity.

He is still best remembered for hosting the Generation Game on the BBC during the 1970s, where Bruce's talent for interacting with the public shone through. Viewing figures peaked in the second series at 21 million for the show.  He also appeared in numerous film and stage roles.   Since the 1980s he has presented numerous popular game shows, such as  Play Your Cards Right, the Generation Game (again) and The Price Is Right.

After a dip in fortunes, Bruce continued to work throughout the 1980s and 1990s rebuilding critical acclaim to match his unwavering public popularity, culminating in a triumphant return as host of a re-born 'Sunday Night At The London Palladium' for the year 2000

Awards and Catchphrases

In 1998, he was awarded the O.B.E. for his services to the entertainment industry.  Recently, BBC2 devoted an evening to Bruce Forsyth to celebrate his love affair with the British public.

Bruce's catchphrases have entered into the English language with such classics as
'Nice to see you...To see you nice' and 'What do Points make?....Prizes'
