Matt Lucas and David Walliams brought the comedy series Little Britain to our screens and it is now one of the best known and most loved comedy series of our time.  The characters and famous catch phrases have turned Matt and David into two of the most recognisable comedians in the UK today.  Although limited in time due to their busy work load, Matt Lucas and David Walliams are available for corporate events.

The History

Matt Lucas and his long-time collaborator David Walliams, originally worked up a routine around a character Sir Bernard Chumley, which Matt performed in 1994, 1995 and 1996 at the Edinburgh Festival.

He was talent spotted by Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves and went on to appear in their show, 'Shooting Stars', where he played George Dawes.   He has since appeared in other major television work with them including 'The Smell Of Reeves and Mortimer', 'Bang Bang It's Reeves and Mortimer', and 'Randall and Hopkirk'.

Little Britain

Matt and David re-united on radio with the show 'Little Britain'. Little Britain went from Radio 4 to BBC3 to terrestrial BBC. It is now one of the best known and most loved comedy series to come out of the UK for a number of years. Some of the characters and their famous catch phrases have turned Matt and David into two of the most well-known and popular comedians in the UK.

The Awards

The comedy series has won a number of 'gongs' including:

  • Silver Sony Award for the Radio Show
  • 2004 Royal Television Society Award
  • 2004 BAFTA Best Comedy Series
  • 2005 BAFTA Best Comedy Series
  • 2005 BAFTA Best Comedy Performance

Writer

Not just a performer, Matt Lucas also wrote for Da Ali G Show.

Corporate Events

Although available in principle for corporate events, in practice it is often difficult due to Matt and David's very busy schedule.  If they are unavailable for your event, but you want the experience of Little Britain, Speakers Corner are proud to present the Little Britain Lookalikes - a tribute act which comes pretty close to the real thing.  Click here for more information.
