Bear Grylls proves his worth
Bear Grylls is returning to the Discovery Channel to prove himself a true adventurer after a British television show confirmed that Grylls actually stayed indoors during some of his expeditions on "Man Vs. Wild."
The new season of "Man Vs. Wild" begins this Friday on the Discovery Channel, and this time viewers will get a more "behind the scenes" look at what really goes on while making the show.
"I think the new shoes will reassure them," Grylls said. "Everything is strong and double-checked. Discovery is so cautious of everything. If I so much as break wind on these shows, it's acknowledged now."
This season Grylls will be traveling to desolate places like the Sahara desert, the plains of Patagonia, and the jungles of Panama. Also debuting this week on Discovery is a one-hour special entitles "Bear's Mission Everest," where the former British Special Forces soldier will attempt to fly a powered paraglider higher than Mt. Everest.
"We continue to seek out new exciting and daring adventures for Bear, and he continues to do what he does best - as exemplified in these two different types of shows," said Discovery Channel President Jane Root. "From an expedition documentary to hands-on demonstrations of life-saving tips for viewers, Bear Grylls brings out the adventurer in all of us."
