Having survived polio as a youngster, Ade Adepitan has gone on to play wheelchair basketball at an international level and has a wealth of TV presenting experience. He is an inspiring motivational and sporting conference and keynote speaker uplifting all audiences that he speaks to.
Ade Adepitan the Television Presenter
Ade works as a very enthusiastic television presenter for the BBC. He has hosted shows including Xchange on the CBBC Channel and has reported for Sportsround and the travel show Holiday. He also appeared on the BBC One "Hip-Hop" ident as the lead dancer.
In 2006 Adepitan was in a CBBC drama Desperados about wheelchair basketball.
Ade the Olympic Athlete
Ade was a member of the Great Britain team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens and the gold medal at the 2005 Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.
Ade also commentated on wheelchair basketball for the BBC at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
MBE
Ade was made a Member of the British Empire for services to disability sport in 2005. Ade is Patron of disability sport charity, WheelPower, who are based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the birthplace of the Paralympics.
Honorary Doctorate
Ade was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of the University, from Loughborough University in recognition of his outstanding services to, and performances in, disabled sport.

Five time gold Olympian winner, the talented rower and motivational speaker Sir Steve Redgrave will be joined by a team of friends and former rowers to conquer the ride across 14 states, climb 100,000 feet and experience every extreme of weather. They aim to raise £100,000 for the Steve Redgrave Fund and Sport Relief.

Chrissie Wellington named Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year
4th November 2009Record-breaking triathlete and Ironman champion Chrissie Wellington has been named Sunday Times sportswoman of the year for 2009. The 32-year-old from Norfolk, who took her third straight Ironman world title last month, won the Sunday Times award after four weeks of online voting. Chrissie, a long-distance triathlon specialist who set a new world record time this year, beat Jessica Ennis, Britain's world heptathlon champion to the title. Cyclist Victoria Pendleton came third behind Chrissie and Jessica.
