Terry Wogan to present new Channel 4 quiz show

Sir Terry Wogan has been given a four-week trial hosting a general knowledge quiz show on Channel 4. The programme is one of the contenders to replace the chat show presented by Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan in the channel's 5pm slot. The couple are moving to UKTV in August.

Sir Terry will face stiff competition for this slot from Top Gear's Richard Hammond, who will be testing out a chat show.

A move to Channel 4 would be following in the footsteps of fellow BBC presenter Noel Edmonds, who now presents the ever succesful Deal Or No Deal.

While the proposed deal is not exclusive, Sir Terry has been scaling back his commitments at the BBC.

Earlier this month he revealed he was standing down from Points of View. His role has been taken over by Jeremy Vine.
