Topics:
  • Business
  • TV/Radio Presenter

Radio 4 presenter John Waite is an excellent conference facilitator and a champion for the comsumer through his radio programme "You and Yours".

Early Years

John Waite was born in the Potteries where his father, rather appropriately, ran a convenience store. Open all hours, the whole family - father, mother, brothers, sisters - helped to run it. John's job was delivery boy, riding one of those bicycles with a huge basket on the front!

BBC Career

After going to university, John joined the BBC's Graduate Recruitment Scheme and has worked for the Corporation for more than thirty years. During that time he has presented literally thousands of radio programmes, from the Today programme with John Humphrys on Radio 4 to a recent series of spoof documentaries with Rory Bremner. His highly respected investigative series, Face the Facts, has won many awards - and John himself has received three Sonys - Radio "Oscars" - as journalist of the year. He now presents the world's longest running daily consumer affairs show, "You and Yours" on Radio 4.
