Hugh Dennis stars in BBC 2's hit topical panel show 'Mock the Week', he is also currently both writing and presenting Radio 4's award winning comedy ' The Now Show' (currently in its 27th series). He also appears in the BBC hit sit-com 'Outnumbered'. Hugh is a fantastic after dinner speaker and award host at any corporate event.

Hugh Dennis - In the Beginning

After originally working as a brand manager for Unilever, Hugh Dennis turned a talent for impressions to better use and began to provide voices for Spitting Image. He then became a regular guest on the Jasper Carott Show and joined the team on The Mary Whitehouse Experience, which first aired on the radio.

Hugh Dennis began his performing career in 1985, as one half of double act "Punt and Dennis". Most recently Hugh and Steve Punt have toured their live show "STUFF AND NONSENSE" around the UK. Hugh gained his degree from St John's College, Cambridge University.

Terry Wogan received a standing ovation when he was presented with The Lifetime Achievement award and Outnumbered staring Hugh Dennis & Claire Skinner won 3 awards including best comedy sitcom. Other winners included Harry Hill and Michael McIntyre, and Peter Kay received an Outstanding Contribution to Comedy award
Outnumbered picks up 5 nominations for the British Comedy Awards
18th November 2009Jonathan Ross is returning to host this year's British Comedy Awards, with BBC Comedy Outnumbered picking up 5 nominations. All three of the show's child stars are up for an award, as well as Claire Skinner who plays the mother in the family comedy. Alan Carr and Michael McIntyre also have high hopes for awards with three nominations apiece.

The event closes not with a headliner but with Reading’s hugely popular open mic contest, where the stars of tomorrow will get their moment in the spotlight – but only one of them will be crowned Reading’s best new comic.
