Well known as the face of breakfast television on ITV's GMTV, Eamonn Holmes hosted BBC1's twice weekly National Lottery programme Jet Set, the quiz show offering contestants a chance to win a once in a lifetime experience.   He also had his own sports entertainment show on BBC Radio Five Live and presented Britain's first national spelling competition, Hard Spell on BBC ONE.

Beginning of Presenting Career

Eamonn was born in Belfast and studied journalism there before beginning his broadcasting career at Ulster Television. Initially a farming reporter before moving on to sport and news, he became, at the age of 21, the youngest ever anchorman in the ITV regions, hosting Ulster Television’s hour-long early evening programme Good Evening Ulster.

In 1986 he was one of the faces who launched daytime television on BBC1, with the daily phone-in programme Open Air and also presented BBC1's Holiday for many years.

Rufus Hound stormed the stage performing Cheryl Cole's number hit single and winning this years Let's Dance for Sport Relief. Hosted and presented by Claudia Winkleman and Steve Jones, the celebrities strutted their stuff for the benefit of both the audience to raise fund for sport relief

Christine Bleakley was in tears this morning as she completed her daunting bid to waterski across the world's busiest shipping lane. Despite falling eight times into the 4C freezing sea, she made it across 22 miles of choppy ocean in just one hour 40 minutes. Setting off for the French coast at 7.46am, The One Show presenter was good spirits supported by her co-host Adrian Chiles. Christine was determined to complete her challenge whatever the weather after raising thousands of pounds for Sport Relief.
