Known both sides of the Atlantic as a golfing commentator, Peter Allis is also a prolific writer and after dinner speaker.

Golfing Commentator

He has twice been Captain of the Professional Golfers' Association and was the first President of the European Women's Professional Golfers Association, as well as past President of the British Greenkeepers' Association.

Peter is recognised around the world for his television commentaries for ABC in the United States and the BBC in Europe, as well as working for the Australian and Canadian Broadcasting Corporations. He was the host of 140 Pro Celebrity Golf television programmes made by the BBC between the years of 1974 and 1988. Peter has als presented "Around with Alliss" and "A Golfer's Travels".

Writer

He has written 20 books, including his autobiography "Peter Alliss: My Life" and best seller "Golf Heroes", and also writes regularly for Golf International and Golf World Magazine.

Christine Bleakley was in tears this morning as she completed her daunting bid to waterski across the world's busiest shipping lane. Despite falling eight times into the 4C freezing sea, she made it across 22 miles of choppy ocean in just one hour 40 minutes. Setting off for the French coast at 7.46am, The One Show presenter was good spirits supported by her co-host Adrian Chiles. Christine was determined to complete her challenge whatever the weather after raising thousands of pounds for Sport Relief.
