Simon Amstell announces new tour for 2008

Simon Amstell the 28-year-old Never Mind The Buzzcocks host will be performing 27 dates between April and June this year.

The tour follows the success of his No Self show, which premiered at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe before touring – and occupying the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London’s West End for four sell-out nights.

However, the only London date so far announced for his 2008 tour is in the suburb of Finchley, where he starts his run on April 25. Many other big cities – including Birmingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow – are also skipped in favour of medium-sized towns in this run.

Amstell, who won two British Comedy Awards last month, will end his tour in Colchester, Essex, on June 29.

Tickets for many of the shows go on sale at 10am on Friday.
