Sir Stuart Rose is a stalwart of business, a leading authority in retail and management. He has a truly distinguished track record in turning around struggling retailers.

His name is synonymous with Marks & Spencer, as he can boast of a career spanning 40 years with the company.

His next move was to Burton Group in 1989, and ten years later he was appointed Chief Executive of Argos plc, followed closely by his next career move to become Chief Executive of Booker plc which eventually merged with the Iceland Group.

Named Chief Executive of Marks & Spencer plc in May 2004 and Chairman four years later, Sir Stuart stood down in 2011.

Chairman of The British Fashion Council from 2004 – 2008, Sir Stuart was then Chairman of Business in the Community from 2008 for two years, and is a non-executive director of Land Securities plc, and Woolworths (South Africa).

He was appointed Chairman of Blue Inc in June 2012, and 6 months later Chairman of Dressipi, an online fashion service.

It 2013, Stuart took up the post of independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman Designate of Ocado Group plc.

Alongside this, 2014 saw him advise the Government on how to improve the organisational culture in under-performing hospitals and how to recruit talent from inside and outside the NHS.

He was knighted in 2008 for services to the retail industry and corporate social responsibility.

Stuart's strong business background combined with his interest in politics – he was created a Conservative life peer in 2014 - means he can advise companies on the turbulent landscape post-Brexit.
