René Carayol is the Chief Executive of Voodoo Limited and one of the world’s leading speakers on e-business and its impact on organisations and people. He truly believes that the real difference between the old and the new economy is speed. René’s overall ambition is to tangibly assist traditional businesses to overcome their inherent fears and concerns about participating in the new digital economy.
Chairman of E-photomail.com, an e-business he set up in January 2000, René gained his wealth of experience by working in senior positions for a number of blue-chip companies, such as Marks & Spencer, Dixons, PepsiCo and IPC Magazines.
René travels all over the world giving his own inspirational brand of conferences addresses. In his role as e-chairman he is able to keep himself abreast of latest initiatives and up to the minute changes in organisations who are leading the dot.com explosion.
As well as teaching leadership and people management skills, René runs workshops on vision, strategy and delivery. He has also established a number of mentoring initiatives to assist the socially deprived in the needier parts of London. Furthermore, he works with the Institute of Public Policy and Research, a government think-tank advising on UK plcs’ approach to e-commerce.
René is a regular guest on various television and radio shows as a business commentator and also contributes to various national newspaper and magazine columns in the UK. His first book ‘Corporate Voodoo’ was published during Spring 2001 and rapidly became Business Book of the Month in Borders, WH Smith and Waterstone’s.
René has a very individual presentation style and recent feedback has included descriptions, such as “challenging, inspirational, a unique sense of humour, honest and dynamic”. He has the rare ability to speak from experience and give the practitioner’s view.
