Rene Carayol is the Chief Executive of Voodoo Limited and one of the world’s leading speakers on e-business and its impact on organisations and people. Rene's overall ambition is to tangibly assist traditional businesses to overcome their inherent fears and concerns about participating in the new digital economy. To this end he is fabulous keynote on business change. Other specialist speaking topics include leadership, entrepreneurialism and the future.

Working Life

Chairman of E-photomail.com, an e-business he set up in January 2000, René gained his wealth of experience by working in senior positions for a number of blue-chip companies, such as Marks & Spencer, Dixons, PepsiCo and IPC Magazines.

Conference Presentations

Rene travels all over the world giving his own inspirational brand of conference addresses.  In his role as e-chairman he is able to keep himself abreast of latest initiatives and up to the minute changes in organisations who are leading the dot.com explosion.

As well as teaching leadership and people management skills, Rene runs workshops on vision, strategy and delivery. He has also established a number of mentoring initiatives to assist the socially deprived in the needier parts of London.  Furthermore, he works with the Institute of Public Policy and Research, a government think-tank advising on UK plcs’ approach to e-commerce.

Rene is a regular guest on various television and radio shows as a business commentator and also contributes to various national newspaper and magazine columns in the UK.  His first book ‘Corporate Voodoo’ was published during Spring 2001 and rapidly became Business Book of the Month in Borders, WH Smith and Waterstone’s.

Rene has a very individual presentation style and recent feedback has included descriptions such as, “challenging, inspirational, a unique sense of humour, honest and dynamic”.  Rene has the rare ability to speak from experience and give the practitioner’s view.

23rd December 2009The Sunday Times has announced its list of contenders for their annual Business Person of the Year award. The finalists have shown true grit and determination - many have hauled their businesses through a rather perilous time unscathed and are survivors in the business world. The contenders are Angela Ahrendts (pictured left), Ross Brawn, Frank Chapman, Richard Cousins, Founders of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone and Evan Williams, Steve Jobs, Sam Laidlaw, Alan Mulally, Kate Swann, and John Varley.
BSkyB is Britain's most admired company 2009
2nd December 2009Media firm BSkyB landed the top spot in Management Today's Britain's Most Admired Companies awards on monday night. Led by CEO Jeremy Darroch, the organisation is one of the youngest to be handed the accolade, topping each of the nine criteria to secure the award. Matthew Gwyther, editor of Management Today said: 'It (BSkyB) is barely more than a stripling upstart amongst the great names of UK business, some of which have been around for centuries in one form or another. It has shown that a class-leading product, well marketed and slickly delivered, can continue to grow and prosper even in the most challenging circumstances.' Tesco and Johnson Mathey took the second and third slots respectively, with Cadbury, GlaxoSmithKline and Rolls-Royce trailing at numbers four, five and six.
