The Sporting Industry
As Director of Marketing at Manchester United plc until May 2006, Peter Draper was responsible for their global brand image, development and sponsorship.
Peter has been involved with the sports industry for over 25 years. Prior to Manchester United, Peter was Marketing Director for Umbro Sportswear for 13 years and before that he was National League Administrator for the English Basket Ball Association for 10 years. Peter is now working with a number of different consumer brands and international sports rights holders in the UK, Asia and the USA, to help brand owners to think more seriously about their relationship with customers and, as a consequence, create more relevant and impactful communications.
Manchester United
Peter’s tasks at Manchester United included juxtaposing the Club (Team) and the PLC and making it acceptable to 50 million fans around the world for Manchester United to be a business. He also found sponsor partners that could benefit from the Club’s global reach and was responsible for maximising income for the Club from the partner programme
Customer Service throughout all industries
Peter has strong views on customer service, identification of customer needs and responsibility of organisations to respond to those needs. He has wide experience of business through his many roles with a variety of product categories from alcoholic drinks to telcos, financial services to snacks and can relate current business experiences to other industries and their issues.
