Sir Clive Woodward prepares for 2012

As director of elite performance for the British Olympic Association (BOA), Sir Clive Woodward is the man charged with finding and developing talent in time for the 2012 Olympics in London. Last week he unveiled his masterplan and the names of the people he has detailed to execute it.

Woodward is working with coaches in the fields of: Subject Awareness, Athletic Development, Performance Movement, Sensory Motor Skills, Performing Under Pressure, Visual Performance, Kinesiology. His plan is the most wide-ranging of any similar project anywhere in the world.

When Clive won the World Cup with England in 2003, he created a culture of winning in the squad, he built the platform on which the success was built. He employed specialist coaching, experts on all sorts of things. No stone was left unturned or penny left unspent in the pursuit of the Webb Ellis.

The Woodward's World Cup-winning team had vast experience and know-how. Martin Johnson, Neil Back, Richard Hill, Lawrence Dallaglio, Jonny Wilkinson, Matt Dawson, Jason Robinson, Josh Lewsey, Will Greenwood certainly created a winning formula that hopefully Clive can translate over to the Olympics.
