Anatole Kaletsky is Principal Economic Commentator and Associate Editor of The Times of London, where he writes a twice-weekly column on economics, politics and financial markets. Anatole is ideally positioned as a great choice as an economics keynote and conference speaker.

How it all began and the awards that followed

Since 1997 Anatole has also worked as an economic consultant, providing forecasts and policy analysis for financial institutions and multi-national companies. In 1998 he was elected by Britain’s economics profession to the governing Council of the Royal Economic Society.

Named Newspaper Commentator of the Year in the BBC’s ‘What the Papers Say’ awards in 1996, Anatole has twice received the British Press Award for Specialist Writer of the Year, as well winning the Wincott Award for economic journalism administered by The Times.

Since relinquishing his executive role in order to create his own consultancy practice, Anatole has remained the paper’s principal commentator on economic and financial affairs. Prior to his appointment to The Times, Anatole Kaletsky worked for 12 years on the Financial Times in a variety of posts.

He started his journalistic career on The Economist and was educated at King’s College, Cambridge where he graduated with a first class honours degree in Mathematics and at Harvard University where he was a Kennedy Memorial Scholar and gained a masters in Economics. Born in 1952 in Moscow and living in Poland and Australia as a child, Anatole has lived in England and the United States since 1966.

Speaking engagements

In addition to his writing he is frequently called upon for radio and television interviews as well as for speaking engagements in Britain, Europe and the US. His provocative style makes him ideal for key note speeches and he is excellent when participating in panel debates or moderating conferences.
