A former Economics Editor, and current Editor-at-Large at The Times, he also writes in the Comment pages on economics, politics, and financial markets. Anatole is ideally positioned as a great choice for an economics keynote and conference speaker.
Since 1997 Anatole has also worked as an economic consultant, providing forecasts and policy analysis for financial institutions and multi-national companies. In 1998 he was elected by Britain’s economics profession to the governing Council of the Royal Economic Society.
Named Newspaper Commentator of the Year in the BBC’s ‘What the Papers Say’ awards in 1996, Anatole has twice received the British Press Award for Specialist Writer of the Year, as well winning the Wincott Award for economic journalism administered by The Times.
Since relinquishing his executive role in order to create his own consultancy practice, Anatole has remained the paper’s principal commentator on economic and financial affairs. Prior to his appointment to The Times, Anatole Kaletsky worked for 12 years on the Financial Times in a variety of posts.
He started his journalistic career on The Economist and was educated at King’s College, Cambridge where he graduated with a first class honours degree in Mathematics and at Harvard University where he was a Kennedy Memorial Scholar and gained a masters in Economics.
