Alan has led many lives and his CV is brimming with experience. In past lives Alan has been the Chief Executive, First Direct Bank; Chairman, National Identity Scheme Assurance Group; Member, Cabinet Office Delivery Council; Non-Executive Director & Audit Committee member, Identity and Passport Service; visiting lecturer INSEAD France, Saïd Business School Oxford and Warwick Universities; member of Leeds University Business School Advisory Board.

Alan has grown the profits and customer satisfaction of every business he has run. He trebled the size and profits of First Direct over 5 years, increased its lead as the UK’s most recommended bank, introduced internet and offset mortgage services. As General Manager in charge of Marketing at HSBC, he was responsible for re-branded Midland Bank, increased loyalty and sales. As MD, Alan grew Griffin Credit Services Ltd (a business-finance company) four-fold to market leadership. Elected to lead the international organisation of factoring companies.
