MAGGIE PHILBIN is a much-loved television and radio presenter, with a host of credits to her name including the likes of Multicolour Swap Shop and Tomorrow's World. She currently spearheads BBC Radio Berkshire's Saturday Breakfast programme and as a conference facilitator and awards host, none can beat the professionalism and style that Maggie Philbin brings into the corporate arena.
The broadcasting career of Maggie Philbin started with a four year stint co-presenting BBC’s legendary Saturday morning children’s show Multicoloured Swap Shop, which she joined fresh from Manchester University where she had studied English and Drama. A major turning point in her career for which she is always remembered came with her subsequent move to the BBC’s flagship science and technology programme Tomorrow’s World where she stayed for eight years. Since then, she has presented a raft of television and radio programmes.
In 2005, impressed with her handling of a series of medical interviews, BBC bosses asked her to launch BBC Radio Berkshire’s Saturday Breakfast programme. Thanks to strong audience figures she’s now moved over to their weekday breakfast slot. In October 2003 she spearheaded the BBC’s Talking Teenagers project across television and radio.
Maggie’s television career encompasses Hospital Watch, Bodymatters Roadshow, QED, and BBC2’s women’s documentary series The Doll’s House. She has worked as a medical and consumer reporter for This Morning on ITV and presented film reports for BBC’s current affairs programme 4x4, as well as a series of 20 programmes called Heartland for Channel Health. She has also presented 40 editions of the science programme Wideworld for Channel 5.
If one theme runs through Maggie’s career, it’s a talent for handling “live” shows. Whether it’s broadcasting live from HMS Westminster on the Thames for the BBC’s prestigious millennium programme 2000 Today, juggling topical calls on her Saturday morning phone-in or grilling company directors on conferences. This has made her popular in the corporate sector where her diverse range of broadcasting skills is a valuable asset for conferences, business presentations and corporate television.

I had to write to thank Maggie sincerely for a great Gala Awards. Again the audience took her to their hearts. I have had lots of correspondence from recipients saying what a wonderful day they had and what a superb job Maggie Philbin did in hosting it.
