JAMES MARTIN has made a great impact since he began to appear on television in November '96 and has rarely been off screen since appearing as a regular team member on Ready Steady Cook.

Antony Worrall Thompson brought him to London to work in the kitchens of 190 Queensgate, followed by dell'Ugo.   In 1994, at the tender age of 22, he opened the Hotel and Bistro du Vin in Winchester as Head Chef, such was the success of the venture, that there was an eight week waiting list for a table during the weekend.

Celebrity Chef

His television career began in November '96 with Ready Steady Cook and he is still a regular on that series, as well as a frequent guest on Saturday Kitchen. He has filmed several of his own series for Carlton Food Network: Kid's Eat The Funniest Things, Fifty Ways To Feed Your Lover, For Better For Worse, Simply Fish, Scouting About and Entertaining With James. He was the co-presenter of two others, Use Your Loaf and Master and Servant with Antony Worrall Thompson. James recorded Kitchen Invaders, broadcast on BBC1 and he was the resident chef on Housecall, BBC1's successful daytime show as well as occasional co-presenter on UK Food's Good Food Live. James was co-presenter of a number of programmes in the Too Many Cooks series for ITV1. Additionally, James appeared in Castle in the Country (BBC2) cooking at Glamis Castle.

He is one of the most popular chefs demonstrating at the annual BBC Good Food Show at the NEC in Birmingham. James also appeared as one of the chefs on the incredibly successful 1999 Ready Steady Cook Roadshow playing to packed theatre houses across the UK.
