Fiona Bruce is one of the most popular presenters working in television today. An award winning newscaster, she is a regular presenter of both the 6 O’clock and 10 O’clock News on BBC One and joined the Antiques Roadshow as lead presenter in 2008. As one of the most experienced and high profile news anchors on television, Fiona is a great choice as an awards presenter or conference facilitator.

Television Broadcasting

Fiona presents the Ten O'Clock News, the 6 O'Clock News and Antiques Roadshow. She presented BBC's Crimewatch for 8 years until December 2007. Fiona also headed the investigative documentary series Real Story with Fiona Bruce and a number of high-profile single documentaries including an exclusive interview with Cherie Blair and unprecedented access to Downing Street: The Real Cherie (2006) an exclusive full-length interview with Bill Gates in How a Geek Changed the World and most recently The Real Sir Alan.

Early Career

Fiona began her career as a researcher on Panorama, later becoming a reporter for the show and for Newsnight. Prior to that she reported on programmes such as Public Eye and First Sight where she won an award from CNN for best health story. She joined the 6 O’clock News in 1999 and Crimewatch in 2000 where she spent eight years as co-presenter. In 2001, she became the first woman presenter to be part of the BBC's election team.

Awards

Fiona was named Newscaster of the Year at the Television and Radio Industry (TRIC) Awards 2003 and is also the recipient of the Michael Elliott Award for Television Presentation 2003.

Books

Fiona’s first book Savvy!: The Modern Girl's Guide to Doing It All Without Risking It All, co written with Jacqui Hames was published in 2008.

20th November 2009BBC Children in Need will take over BBC One tonight, with coverage starting at 7pm, with a variety of entertainment acts all doing their bit to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. Terry Wogan, Alesha Dixon and Tess Daly will host the evening form BBC Televison centre, featuring some of the UK's top TV, musical and theatrical personalities and acts. Wake up to Wogan has an army of fans, 8 million of whom tune in on a daily basis to hear his idiosyncratic musings.
