A series of events in 1991 changed John Peters' life forever.  This is not a war story as such, but a very human, moving and, at times, funny story.  It is of particular relevance in today's changing times and John is as busy as ever delivering after dinner and keynote speeches at corporate events.

John's Dramatic Story

John Peters came to the world’s attention in January 1991, when his bruised and battered face flashed onto television screens around the world.  It was his disfigured image that became a potent symbol of Saddam Hussein’s ruthless aggression.  His dramatic and sometimes harrowing experiences reach deep into our innermost minds, showing us how we can overcome even our worst fears and nightmares.  His war was not all as he expected – it became a seven-week ordeal of torture and interrogation testing John Peters to the absolute limit and bringing him close to death.

International Speaker

John is an experienced speaker of international repute.  He was the sole reader representing the British Armed Forces at the National Gulf Memorial Service, in front of Her Majesty, The Queen and presented the Sir James Martin Lecture at the Royal Aeronautical Society in the presence of Prince Philip.  Furthermore, he followed Mr Nelson Mandela on stage in South Africa and achieved a standing ovation!

Inspirational Speaker

John presents a roller-coaster ride: you will believe you were there!  He provides an incredible descriptive insight of his experiences.  He is certainly not a doom and gloom merchant.  Far from it – his innate sense of humour and superb timing ensures the audience sees the funny and lighter side of his experience.  He is passionate, emotive & challenging.  He can seamlessly and skilfully relate his experiences to current business issues.

John Peters was the sole reader representing the British Armed Forces at the National Gulf Memorial Service, in front of Her Majesty The Queen and Heads of State; presented the 1999 Sir James Martin Lecture at the Royal Aeronautical Society in the presence of Prince Philip and subsequently at the SAFE symposium in Atlanta. Furthermore, he followed Mr Nelson Mandela on stage in South Africa and achieved a standing ovation.

Motivational Speaker

John Peters is one of the leading motivation speakers in the UK. His corporate credits include Nortel, IBM, Sony, Lloyds and The Royal Bank of Scotland and Peugeot cars to name a few.

John Peters is superbly masterful when motivating and inspiring an audience, or when he enthrals guests after dinner or luncheon. They leave with an inspired sense of purpose, with a greater understanding of how to cope with unexpected change and how to drive through these difficulties to set and achieve real goals.

The impact he has on an audience is reflected by the standing ovations he so often gets and overwhelming response he always receives after his presentations.

Clients' Comments

“I have seen some speakers in my time, but John Peter's is the first to provide a presentation that was truly overwhelming.  He came across as one of us, a real person and the way he delivered his amazing story and experiences touched the whole audience, as the content was relevant to every single person.  It was powerful stuff and I felt very privileged to have even been there."
The Newspaper Society

“John Peters – what an inspiration!  What I found most powerful was his totally down to earth and dignified approach towards life threatening experiences.”
AGFA

“Like probably all my colleagues in the audience yesterday I was absolutely fascinated by John's speech.  I tried to convey my impression to my wife and three sons when I got back to Gothenburg last night.  I found myself unable to do you justice but from my own account his appearance was one of the most rewarding moments in a long time.  Thank you."
Wilson Logistics Holding AB

“John Peters gave us a truly inspirational presentation with such emotion, enthusiasm and honesty.”
NRG Direct Mail

“The response to John Peter's talk has been outstanding.  The delegates were deeply moved by his experiences and they have been left with a lasting impression of  bravery and determination. Were it not for his contribution, we could not have delivered such a successful day – none of us will ever forget the story he had to tell and we all feel immensely privileged to have met him.”
Royal Bank of Scotland

“I am left with a lasting impression of John Peters, who will remain in my memory as one of the most incredible & emotional speakers that I have ever experienced & had the honour of hearing.”
Walker User Group

“I have never seen the officer cadets so obviously captivated before: it is a feat in itself to keep them awake, but to maintain their interest is almost unheard of!  It is only the second time that I've ever heard the cadets give such a prolonged ovation to a speaker at Sandhurst.”
The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst

“There is a definite buzz about the whole division since the conference and I would thank John once again for creating that and the motivation within our management structure”.
General Accident Property Services

“John Peters' powerful and emotional presentation provided a dramatic perspective to the Challenge of Change theme and was warmly received, demonstrated by the immediate audience reaction.  Perhaps what John will not have been able to appreciate is the motivational impetus that it has inspired, and for that we must thank him again.”
Lloyds Bowmaker

“John made an outstanding, and brave and emotionally honest presentation which moved and inspired us all.  What he communicated about how he felt and what he's learned about yourself touched a chord, I know, in every individual present -in a unique and profound way.”
Equifax

“As the highest scoring speaker on the programme, John Peters wowed the audience not only with the drama of the story, but also with his humour and humanity.  John is a very polished and skilful speaker at the audience on the edge of their seats as he shared his experience has been shot down over Iraqi in the Gulf War.  Not only was John an excellent presenter he was also an organiser’s dream in both his professionalism, his flexibility and his genuine enthusiasm in mixing and mingling with the delegates after the session.  He happily spent time socialising with the delegates and answering their many questions.  I highly recommend John to any audience."
