Best known for hosting Have I Got News for You with regular panellists Paul Merton and Ian Hislop, Angus Deayton is a comic actor, television presenter and awards host.

Television Career

Angus’ career took off with a programme which parodied the commercial and local British radio stations.   Radio Active transmitted on BBC Radio 4 between 1981 and 1987, which he both wrote and performed in. It transferred to television as KYTV between 1989 and 1993.

In 1990 Deayton was cast as the Meldrews' neighbour Patrick Trench in the British suburban sitcom One Foot in the Grave but it was hosting Have I Got News For You that made him a household name. 

He has presented numerous television specials including the BBC's New Year's Eve show, the BAFTA Awards, Before They Were Famous and TV Hell.

Other projects including a further episode of Radio Active, a BBC comedy Nighty Night as well as presenting ITV's cookery reality show Hell's Kitchen and the light-hearted quiz Bognor or Bust.
