As a TV presenter specialising in business and personal finance, together with her background in comedy, Jasmine Birtles is well equipped in the corporate sector as both an after dinner speaker and conference facilitator

TV & Radio Involvement

Jasmine has co-presented BBC 1’s “Homes Under the Hammer”, ITV Scotland’s “Spend Spend Spend” as well as “First Time Buyers” and “Doctor Dosh” for UKTV Style.  She regularly appears as a financial expert on GMTV, Daily Politics (BBC), BBC Breakfast News, News 24 and Sky News.

She is a regular pundit on BBC Radio 4 and Five Live, guesting on magazine, current affairs and comedy programmes, such as “Quote Unquote” and “Off the Page”.

Jasmine is unique in that she is able to combine her financial knowledge of business and personal finance with her comedy skills, making a usually dull and worrying subject palatable and fun.

As a Writer

As a financial journalist she writes a column for the Independent on Sunday, and Move or Improve magazine, and contributes regularly to The Independent, The Express, Essentials Magazine, Glamour Magazine and many others.

She is the author of 36 books, a mix of humorous and financial titles, including the best seller “A Little Book of Abuse”,  "A Girl’s Best Friend is her Money”, “A Bit on the Side, 500 Ways to Boost your Income” and her latest book “The Money Book:  Control Your Money Control Your Life”.

Her Corporates and After Dinner Events

As an after dinner speaker and corporate presenter, she has hosted conferences and entertained audiences for a wide variety of companies, including BT, IBM, Ernst and Young, Barclays Stockbrokers, Sainsbury’s, Egg and Abbey National.

Jasmine’s mixture of humour and audacity has made her ‘hot property on the speaking circuit' (The Times).  She is a superb and different after dinner speaker – often entertaining her audience hilariously by deceit!  She has a unique act where she turns up at the event incognito - maybe as a PR girlie, an American Human Resources executive, a Labour MP, a Swedish Head of Marketing or perhaps a leadership guru - and gives a speech that starts off as they would expect but then descends into humour and madness!  Her speeches are always tailored to the company and the event and, with prior information, can include jokes about members of the audience if required.

Jasmine's background as a comedienne and her knowledge of financial matters - thanks to her work in financial journalism - make her a perfect conference facilitator.  She combines an ability to please and control a crowd with an understanding of business terms and a willingness to thoroughly research the industry or profession prior to the event.  This makes her an excellent and entertaining host.

She can convince an entire room that she is a high-flying executive, a Labour MP (she once claimed to be the junior under-minister for the Duchy of Lancaster), a member of the aristocracy or a brain-dead PR girl.  She has the nerve to take to the podium at an immense corporate gathering and pretend to be a new senior executive, her speech gradually descending into the ridiculous jargon of that business that provokes a ticklish sense of self-recognition to ripple through the audience”.
The Times

“Well briefed on the CEO and the key Directors who were present, Jasmine took the persona of an MP, a Blair’s Babe, and with a wealth of targets, had the audience in tears of laughter”.
 Director, ICL

“…..an absolutely superb performance by impersonating our newly recruited Marketing Director from hell.  She managed to fool most successfully all of the senior managers present at our event in a superb and credible manner.  As a result of her efforts, the evening was judged to have been a great success and enjoyed by all present”.
Corporate Development Director, BARCLAYS
