Lucy Baily

Born and bred in North London, I’ve never sought to move far from my roots - in fact, having completed my degree in Sussex just a stone’s throw away in London-on-Sea (Brighton) I moved straight back north! On my return, I first took a job as a management assistant for high-profile bands and musical artists (no name-dropping of course!), before moving into the visual arts and the spectacular and niche world of limited edition silk screen printing.

In these jobs, I loved the personalities and the creativity, so when I saw the job at Speakers Corner I jumped at it. As a religious listener of Desert Island Discs, this role seemed as though it could truly satisfy my curiosity for learning about remarkable people leading fascinating lives. It hasn’t disappointed so far, with each day bringing fresh opportunities to meet and see our incredible speakers in action.

When not working (or listening to Desert Island Discs) you’re likely to find me engaging in experimental cooking or creative pursuits (sometimes including DIY). Failing that, I like to spend time with my friends, often over a gin and tonic or two.
