David Aaronovitch and Simon Jenkins are journalists, broadcasters and columnists, as well as awards hosts and after dinner speakers. They are speaking at the Battle of Ideas - two days of high-level, thought-provoking, public debate organised by the Institute of Ideas, and hosted by the Royal College of Art in London.
With over 70 separate sessions over two days of political debate, some of the burning questions being addressed at this year’s conference include: Tiger mothers: the great parenting row; Is technology making us smarter or dumber?; Hand-out Britain? Has a dependency culture made us sick? and 21st century architecture: for the future or of the present?
“Nine out of ten these debates hit the right balance between heated argument and useful exchange between people who wouldn't usually be talking to each other. An extremely stimulating environment."
Tim Parks, novelist, essayist and translator
