Henley Literary Festival Boasts Speakers Corner’s Best

28th September 2011

Henley-on-Thames, home of the annual royal regatta since 1839, and now also renowned for its literary festival, is gearing up for a long weekend of chat, books and authors, including some of Speakers Corner’s best – Gervase Phinn, Alan Titchmarsh, Ben Fogle, and Former chief North America correspondent for the BBC, and Newsnight presenter, Gavin Esler.

Set amidst stunning countryside, the brilliant array of speakers will also include Sarah Brown, as she gives an account of life behind the scenes in Downing Street and talks about what it was like to support the man she loved as he faced a global financial meltdown.

There will be a chance to take tea with Rachel Johnson, the irrepressible Editor of The Lady, and hear more frank and funny stories from the country's most traditional magazine, as well as a host of food and wine writers, plus cookery demonstrations and a special dance masterclass with Arlene Phillips.
