ITV Introduce New Breakfast Show

13 March 2014

ITV will be introducing a new breakfast show later this year called ‘Good Morning Britain’, presented by Susanna Reid,  Ben Shephard, Charlotte Hawkins  and Sean Fletcher.

Lorraine Kelly will continue to present her own show ‘Lorraine’ between 8.30am and 9.25am and ‘Good Morning Britain’ will air prior to her show. Also starting later this year is a new weekend breakfast show, ‘Weekend’, which will be hosted by Aled Jones between 8.30am and 9.25am.

Speaking about the new shows the ITV Director of Daytime, Helen Warner stated ‘Our overriding aim is to continue to improve our breakfast programming for our viewers and we have been working for some time behind the scenes developing the next chapter of our offering…Engaging, news driven content is our number one priority and will be at the heart of everything we do on Good Morning Britain.”

Susanna Reid has left the BBC in order to join the team at ITV and speaking about her decision she said ‘I'm very excited to be joining Good Morning Britain. I have loved being at BBC Breakfast & will miss the team.’

Ben Shephard presented GMTV for 10 years and hasn’t presented breakfast TV since. When it was revealed he would be one of the four presenters on ‘Good Morning Britain’ he tweeted saying ‘Thank you- just looking through all messages - it's seems you really didn't like me lying in! Haha can’t wait to start waking up with you all!’

Charlotte Hawkins is leaving Sky TV, where she co-hosted Sky Sunrise alongside Eamonn Holmes  and Sean Fletcher will also be moving from Sky after two and a half years broadcasting on Sky News and Sky Sports News.

The new morning show is anticipated to be a huge success due to the fantastic presenters fronting it. If you would like to book an awards host  for a corporate event call us on 02076077070.
