Micky Flanagan Joins Channel 4

21 December 2011

Comedian Micky Flanagan has signed an exclusive one-year deal with Channel 4.

Comedy website Chortle has reported that Mock The Week star Flanagan will develop three or four possible ideas with the broadcaster, in the hope of ultimately finding a starring vehicle.

The deal will mean he will have to reduce his appearances on non-Channel 4 shows, such as Mock The Week.

Flanagan’s agent Christian Knowles told Chortle: ‘We’re absolutely delighted with the deal and the support we are getting from Channel 4. Just look at the quality of the acts who have previously been nurtured by the channel – it’s great news.’

Flanagan’s first role with C4 will be as a team captain on the advertising-based panel show The Mad Bad Ad Show next year alongside Mark Watson  and host Mark Dolan .

Flanagan was nominated for best breakthrough artist at the British Comedy Awards.
