Pen Hadow - Polar Explorer, Environmental Adviser & Motivational Speaker, launches a new challenge for 2013.
In a feature in The Sunday Times (‘With cashews and Kylie I’ll tame the pole’) Pen announced that he intends to attempt the last great Arctic challenge – to walk unaided, solo 1,000miles from Russia to Canada via the North Pole. It will be a pioneering expedition with a scientific purpose as Pen will survey the ice ridges.
“It’s all about combining the spirits of adventure and science to get the important message out that the Arctic is rapidly changing,” said Pen.
Pen intends to set off in February 2013 and anticipates that the expedition will take 100 days.
