Speakers Corner are thrilled to announce that Tom Conti is available for after dinner speaking.
Tom Conti is a renowned stage, television and film actor. He won an Olivier and Broadway Tony award for his role in Whose Life Is It Anyway? and was Oscar nominated for Reuben, Reuben. He has starred in numerous West End productions and won, with Judy Dench, the Theatregoers Choice Award for most popular actors of the past twenty five years. He recently completed shooting The Tempest with Helen Mirren and A Closed Book with Daryl Hannah. Tom has appeared in over 20 feature films, most famously as the archetypal Greek lothario in Shirley Valentine. He is also an accomplished director and author of a passionate love story The Doctor
Last week, Tom Conti was performing Jesus My Boy at The Pleasance Theatre Islington:
Jesus My Boy stars Tom Conti as a feisty Joseph in a hilariously refreshing intimate play written by comedian John Dowie. Highlights include his memorable meeting with the boy's mother, the truth behind the birth itself and his sceptical encounter with the so-called Three Wise Men. Oscar nominated, Tony and Olivier award-winning actor Tom Conti reprises this brilliant show on its tenth anniversary and the performances were followed by Tom chatting to the audience
As a much loved British comedy actor, with humorous anecdotes and his charismatic personality, Tom Conti makes the perfect choice as an after dinner speaker. A couple of our booking agents at Speakers Corner went to one of these performances and were impressed with the way he had the audience eating out of his hand!
