Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros Biography
Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros was President of Daimler Chrysler Spain Holding’s Board of Director and President Chief Executive Officer for Mercedes Benz Spain for more than 20 years. His extensive and prolific business experience cements his position as a world leading after dinner speaker and keynote speaker.
Background and Career
Carlos is Second Vice President of Inditex and advisor to Acciona, S.A. In May 1997
he was designated independent advisor to Inditex, Zara, and was re-elected in the General Board of Shareholders in 2000 and 2004. He is also President of the Board of Directors of the Muprespa Fraternity.

He has recently received the ICADE-Asociación Prize, awarded by ICADE-Comillas Alumni Association, which each year acknowledges professionals with an excellent trajectory who have demonstrated extraordinary human, ethical, intellectual and human values.
He has been Sales Director and Vice-President of the National Institute of Industry in Spain, President of Iberia and Aviaco airlines, member of the Board of Directors of the International Air Transport Association, President of the Businessmen Circle, of the Spanish Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and of the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers.
Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros worked for the Spanish Government as Spanish Commercial Aggregate in Chicago. One of his numerous missions was to look after the generic promotion of sherry. This experience enabled him to eventually become the first president of Bodegas Gónzalez- Byass who wasn’t a member of the González family, a landmark decision in a company that goes back to 1835. In 2006 he left the post after eight years of dedication and devotion to the company.
He holds a BA in Law and Business Science from ICADE. He also holds a Master in Business Administration from Northwestern University and obtained the post of Sales Technician and Economist of the Estate through official estate examinations. He has been Professor of Economy at ICADE, member of NATO’s “Wisemen Group” for the analysis of European industry, and consultant at the CEE for the study of the future of the aeronautic industry. He is perfectly fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian.
