Chris Addison Biography
Star of BBC2's The Thick of It, award-winning comedian Chris Addison is known for his versitality, energetic routines and faultless delivery - making him the ideal choice as an awards host or stand up comedian at corporate events.
Background and career
After starring in BBC 2's multi award winning comedy 'The Thick of It', for which he was nominated as Best Newcomer at the British Comedy Awards, Chris made his big screen debut alongside James Gandolfini. ‘In the Loop’ is an exciting, fast paced political comedy that explores what happens when the people in power realise their careers are on the line.
Increasingly well known on camera, Chris’s talent also extends behind the scenes - he is an established writer who has written and starred in his own sitcom, Lab Rats, for BBC 2, and has written two novels: Cautionary Tales for Grown-Ups and It wasn't Me. His further television writing credits include: Harry Hill's TV Burp (ITV1) and TFI Friday (Channel 4).
Chris has also enjoyed critical acclaim as one third of comedy show The Department (BBC Radio 4) and for his radio show The Ape That Got Lucky (BBC Radio 4), which won a Sony Radio Academy Award in 2006. Chris has also appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and regularly on Have I Got News For You.
As a stand up, Chris is renowned for his versatility, energetic routines and faultless delivery. Both his 2004 and 2005 solo Edinburgh shows sold out, and were nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award. Chris will be back touring the country in 2010 and will be returning to our screens at the end of October when Series 3 of The Thick of It returns to BBC Two.

The new TV show, Genius, invites members of the public to pitch their ideas to a celebrity guest "genius" who then decides whether or not the idea is clever enough to mark them out as a genius. At the end of the show, the guest's two favourite ideas are put to the public who then decide which one of them gets to win the fabled Genius Trophy....
