David Aaronovitch Biography
David Aaronovitch is an excellent after dinner and conference speaker.
David is one of the most familiar and astute political commentators working across all media today. His work spans a variety of platforms from national newspapers such as The Times to regular television appearances on shows such as Newsnight Review and Have I Got News For You (BBC2), as well as the Today programme, Devil's Advocate and Pick of the Week on Radio 4.
Since beginning his career in BBC News in the 1980s, David has produced and written a variety of material for television as well as presenting in front of the camera. He has also covered for veteran presenters Jimmy Young and Michael Parkinson on BBC Radio 2, as well as being a guest on their shows.
He became chief leader writer for The Independent in 1995, and has since written for every major newspaper, winning numerous accolades, including Columnist of the Year 2003 and the 2001 Orwell prize for journalism.
David Aaronovitch's Media Career
After starting his career in BBC news in the 1980s, he first presented an analytical show Thinktank for BBC1 in 1996. He wrote and presented a film biography of the early lives of Major and Blair, entitled Two Little Boys, transmitted by Channel 5 on their opening night in 1997. He presented two series of a new books programme, Booked, for Channel 4 from 1998 and he wrote and presented a History of Sex on TV for Granada in 2002. Other credits include The Last Word, Never Mind the Full Stops, Million Dollar Wife, 1973 and Don't Get Me Started. He presented three series of True Lies, three series of Copysnatchers and several other programmes for BBC Radio 4 in the last ten years.
