David Jones

David Jones, one of the most recognisable faces on TV, is a Sky Sports presenter and journalist, with an unrivalled knowledge and passion for sport.

As main football presenter on Sky Sports, he presents the flagship Super Sunday and Monday Night Football programmes.

David’s background is in journalism. He trained as a newspaper reporter and then joined Sky Sports News as it launched in 1998, first as a scriptwriter, then progressing to reporting and ultimately fulfilling his dream as a pitch side reporter in Premier League games.

David anchored the Sky Sports News afternoon slot with co-host Georgie Thompson for many years, as well as more hard-hitting football focussed broadcast journalism including the Sky Sports News coverage of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

He took the helm of the World Cup 2010 reporting, and broke free of football briefly, to anchor coverage of the iconic London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic games.

David has commentated on numerous FA Cup games and Champions League matches.

David hosted ‘The Footballers Football Show’ alongside Jamie Redknapp, a show which he also co-produced.

Journalistically talented and prolifically passionate about all sport, David has acted as on-pitch host for ECB for England cricket internationals, as well as for Surrey County Cricket Club, for whom he also hosted the end of season awards dinner.

Not just a pundit – a real sportsman too – David loves playing football, cricket, golf and is a keen cyclist.
