Declan Curry Biography
Declan Curry is one of the BBC's most recognisable business presenters and an accomplished after dinner and keynote speaker, conference facilitator and awards host. Previous engagements include the National Business Awards conference, the BCSC Annual Conference, the DTI e-commerce awards, the Alliance for Finance pensions conference and the Engineering Employers Federation Year in Industry initiative.
Front Man for Business News
Declan Curry is one of the best known BBC Business Presenters. He has previously presented BBC's Working Lunch and was the front man for the BBCs Breakfast Business News for many years. He was also the Business Presenter on BBC News 24 since the channel's launch in 1997. Declan now presents weekly programmes on business and work - 'On The Money' on BBC Radio 5 Live, and 'Show Me The Money' on BBC News.
His broadcasts on Breakfast, covered a wide range of stories about business, work and money, and Declan tried to extract news and views from chief executives, trade union leaders, stock market watchers, private investors and individual workers.

BBC Business is all about getting rich - slowly, Declan says. It all boils down to hard cash - where our money comes from, and where it goes; how we earn it, how we spend it, and how we can use it to make even more of it. When he's not broadcasting, he'll be in the City for meetings and hush-hush gossiping in the wine bars. Nearly 10 million people now own shares in the UK, and hopefully there's a little nugget of news that's useful to each one of us, he says.
Declan Curry also explained the basics of money management on News 24's personal finance programme, It's Your Money.
Broadcasting Career
Declan Curry previously broadcast for the BBC's international news channel, BBC World, and spent two years as a daily business commentator in the United States for ABC News.
Declan also presented BBC Radio 5 Live's early morning business programme, Wake up to Money, and produced and reported for a range of programmes, including Radio 4's personal finance flagship Moneybox, Radio 5 Live's Financial World Tonight, and World Service Radio's World Business Report. In the past he has worked for the London-based commercial news station LBC, and writes for a wide range of newspapers, magazines and industry publications in the UK, the Irish Republic and the United States.
Declan is in huge demand as a speaker and host at conferences and awards ceremonies. He has been a judge for the British Insurance Awards, the Proshare Investor Awards and the Princes' Trust Business Awards, among others.
