Fearne Cotton Biography

Fearne Cotton is one of the most successful presenters on British television who has now found fame across the pond.  On the corporate scene, Fearne is an excellent awards host.

Children’s Presenter

Fearne began her presenting career on The Disney Club when she was 16 and within a few years of learning her craft on other children’s programmes including Smile and The Saturday Show on CBBC, she moved over to mainstream TV and radio broadcasting.

Mainstream Television Presenter

Fearne became noticed by a wider public when she presented Top of the Pops with Reggie Yates and she was one of the last regular presenters for the show which ended in July 2006.  She has since presented numerous other high profile programmes including Love Island, which she co-hosted with Patrick Kielty and was the main presenter on ITV2’s Xtra Factor before leaving our shores for the United States and passing the role over to her friend Holly Willoughby.  Fearne has also presented parts of the Eurovision Song Contest, many telethons including Live 8 in Hyde Park, Comic Relief and Children in Need alongside the likes of Terry Wogan, Natasha Kaplinsky, Jonathan Ross and Lenny Henry.

Comic Relief

In 2009, Fearne did a 5-day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, alongside Ben Shephard, Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon, Ronan Keating, Denise Van Outen and Chris Moyles, Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh for Comic Relief. She was in the first group to reach the summit and helped raise £3.3m.

Radio Presenter

Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates presented BBC Radio 1's Chart Show and Fearne then became the first ever permanent female presenter of a BBC radio chart show.

USA

In 2008, Fearne moved to the USA to host The Guinness Book of Records - Live.  She later co-hosted the NBC reality show Last Comic Standing.

2009 was an exciting year for Fearne, fulfilling two lifelong ambitions. Firstly, designing and endorsing her own ‘Fearne Cotton’ fashion range for Very (which can be viewed at ‘very.co.uk’), and in September taking the reins from Jo Whiley to present the popular Radio 1 weekday 10am-12.45pm slot. In October, ITV2 launched Fearne’s own interview show called Fearne And..., where she interviewed popular personalities including Paris Hilton and Peaches Geldof. With more prime time UK projects planned, a burgeoning US career and presenting a second series of Celebrity Juice  this year is looking to be a very busy year for this talented young lady.
