Guy Browning Biography
Guy Browning is the David Attenborough of the business jungle. He is one of those rare breeds who is equally adept as an after dinner speaker, conference facilitator and headline keynote speaker. A long-standing columnist in The Guardian and the man behind the Pocket Guru column in the Daily Telegraph, he also presents Guy Browning’s Small Talk on Radio 4.
Guy Browning’s two primary strengths are his thorough understanding of commercial issues and his astute and ingenious sense of humour. He uses these as a medium to promote creativity and innovation in business.
Guy is the creator of The Guardian’s Office column, and author of a plethora of bestselling books, including Weak at the Top, Never Hit a Jellyfish with a Spade and Maps of my Life.
His book The Pocket Guru, is an accessible and lauded guide to enterprise.
Guy’s background is in advertising copywriting, and he currently heads up the Smokehouse consultancy, where he helps businesses conceive innovative products, services and processes, and new ways of communicating.
As well as one of the most popular after dinner speakers on the circuit, Guy’s talents as a keynote conference speaker, allow him to convey how to best use initiative and intelligence to tackle problems in business.
Guy has also taken the professional leap into movies – he has written and directed his first film Tortoise In Love, a low-budget romantic comedy financed by and starring locals from his own Oxfordshire village.
