With over twenty years newsroom experience, Jonathan has reported from some of the world’s toughest conflict zones, from where he has reported and analysed unfolding political and social situations.

Jonathan started out as a documentary presenter, and was posted in Turkey for four years, from where he reported for the BBC World Service, The Guardian and The Observer. Based on his experiences and education of the region from his time there, he wrote the best-selling ‘Ataturk’s Children’.

His first staff job with Channel 4 was as their Business Correspondent, and he won several awards for corporate investigations.

His coverage of the Haiti earthquake and famine in Somalia garnered him international acclaim, and Jonathan was appointed the programme’s Washington Correspondent.

With an in-depth knowledge of the subjects, Jonathan covered the last two American and French presidential elections; the Eurozone crisis and the Arab Spring, and carved a name for himself amongst the UK’s top news broadcasters.
