Kevin Mitnick Biography
As the world’s most famous (former) hacker, Kevin Mitnick’s cyber-adventure has been documented in countless international news and magazine articles. His story of being caught by the FBI and serving five years in jail for wire and computer fraud, has been widely publicised and he has made numerous guest appearances on TV and radio, offering expert commentary on issues related to information security.
Kevin has been exploring computer security for over thirty years. He is a self-taught expert in complex operating systems and telecommunications devices, and has made a career out of exploiting their faults. Since his early teenage years, Kevin has been formulating plans to circumnavigate computer security, and to become so knowledgeable in the workings of technology that he can make or break almost any device.
Using his unparalleled knowledge, Kevin succeeded in breaking down the unauthorized gateways of computer systems at some of the largest corporations in the world and penetrated the most unbreakable computer systems on earth. By obtaining source codes to various operating systems and telecommunications systems, he has been able to study their vulnerabilities and their inner workings.
Kevin’s first best-selling book, The Art of Deception, was followed by The Art of Intrusion, and then by his autobiography, which became a New York Times best-seller, as did his latest book Ghost in the Wires.
