Nigel's performance was excellent. He provoked laughter and interactivity in the audience, but most of all he made them think. His talk answered the brief and he tailored it nicely to reflect the KCI business
KCI Europe

Thank you for your excellent presentation during our recent Amer Sports Management Meeting in Helsinki. Your mix of humor and hard facts kept our people focused throughout your presentation and really provided the launching pad for an excellent meeting.
Amer Sports

I just wanted to say thank you again for doing such a great job for us yesterday. You covered the topic in a way which was engaging and thought-provoking whilst at the same time being real fun.
Lovells

We have now used Nigel two times over the last year at large team events for my Team HR. Both times Nigel was the highlight of the conference and received enormously high scores form participants. He took the time to work closely with me to tailor his presentation, and it showed! I would whole-heartedly recommend Nigel to anyone.
Nestle UK

Nigel is extremely engaging and really challenges the group to think differently and creatively. He has a high level of energy which is contagious.

Q & A with Nigel Barlow

Nigel Barlow answered some probing questions for Speakers Corner. For speaking secrets revealed - read on! To book Nigel Barlow for your event, please contact one of the Speakers Corner booking agents on +44 (0)20 7607 7070 or  info@speakerscorner.co.uk

Speakers Corner: How did the corporate speaking start?

Nigel Barlow: I was doing smaller, intense training events and about twenty years ago my clients started asking me to do bigger conference.

Speakers Corner: Can you remember your first speaking engagement?

Nigel Barlow: No – I’ve had therapy to remove it form my memory!

Speakers Corner: And your last event?

Nigel Barlow: A great session with a French multi-national, over-looking Rotterdam harbour.

Speakers Corner: Which event has been your favourite and why?

Nigel Barlow: A long-term Swedish client’s One Hundred Years Celebration. I had to speak after Neil Armstrong.

Speakers Corner: If you could speak at any event, past or future, what would it be?

Nigel Barlow: I usually like being where I am at the moment – when I stop enjoying it, I’ll quit.

Speakers Corner: Who would you most like to share a platform with?

Nigel Barlow: Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, or Richard Thompson.

Speakers Corner: On average, how many times a year do you speak at corporate events?

Nigel Barlow: 80 – 100.

Speakers Corner: Do you use powerpoint?

Nigel Barlow: Yes – but I do ‘life by powerpoint’ instead of ‘death by powerpont’. Visuals should be visual – end of story.

Speakers Corner: Are you as happy speaking to 50 as to 1,000 people?

Nigel Barlow: Yes, though naturally it’s a different style that works for a more intimate group than a football-stadium audience.

Speakers Corner: Do you always like to do a briefing call before the event?

Nigel Barlow: Always.

Speakers Corner: What are the most asked for topics?

Nigel Barlow: Creativity, Innovation, Leadership, Customer Focus, The Future, and Mindset Change.

Speakers Corner: Is your speech at all interactive with audience participation?

Nigel Barlow: Very interactive. I have a preference for the after-lunch spot.

Speakers Corner: Do you have any funny/embarrassing speaking anecdotes you care to share?

Nigel Barlow: I frequently dream about turning up at the wrong venue, in the wrong country. Hasn’t happened yet.

Speakers Corner: Your favourite film?

Nigel Barlow: Les Enfant du Paradis, M Houlot’s Holiday

Speakers Corner: Favourite book?

Nigel Barlow: The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell

Speakers Corner: Favourite holiday destination?

Nigel Barlow: Italy, Italy, or… Italy

Speakers Corner: What’s your tipple – wine, beer, champagne?

Nigel Barlow: All – but separately.

Speakers Corner: Country or townie?

Nigel Barlow: Both
