Penny Mallory Biography
Rally Driver and TV presenter, Penny Mallory is a first rate after dinner and motivational speaker, as well as an accomplished conference facilitator.
Not only is Penny one of the top woman Rally Drivers in the world, she is also the only woman to have taken part in the World Rally Car. She became the National Ladies Champion Driver in 1993 and has performed as a stunt driver in the Renault Clio advertisements.
Her career as a Rally Driver has given her the opportunity to work on television programmes such as ITV’s ‘The Used Car Show’, ‘Daybreak’ and ‘BBC Breakfast’ where she presents consumer reports. She also presented five series of the well known Channel 4 show, ‘Driven’ as well as ‘World Rally Championship’, ‘Accident Blackspots’ and Discovery’s ‘Classic Car Club’. Her talent does not stop there; she wrote a column for the design magazine ‘Intra’ and articles for numerous publications including ‘BMW Magazine’ and ‘4Car’.
Penny left home at the age of 14 and moved to London where she spent a few years living in homeless hostels. With only herself to rely on she showed great strength of character and pushed herself in the right direction. She worked her way towards a career as a sound engineer and graphics artist and it was during this time that she realised her love for Rally Driving.
In addition to being a successful Rally Driver she is also a qualified performance coach and sport psychologist, working with large organizations, teams and individuals. She acts as a consultant to businesses and has workshops where she is well known for helping and inspiring people, her consultancy methods are very popular in Europe.
At one stage in her life, Penny was 16 stone and she now takes her physical fitness seriously. This is evident through her determination and ability to run 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 continents; she is the only British woman to have achieved this. She also enjoys boxing, polo and mountaineering. Penny is set to release her new weight loss project this year.
Penny is an example of what people can achieve if they are determined to reach their goals and work hard. Her difficult upbringing has made her the inspirational and successful woman that she is today and her story is one that encourages and motivates the people that hear it.
