Russell Howard Biography
One of the UK's most successful live comedians, Russell Howard is also star of his own hit BBC show 'Russell Howard's Good News'. He has released multiple best selling DVDs and is a regular on Mock The Week.
Background and career
At the age of 19, Russell Howard plotted himself on the comedy map by reaching the final of Channel 4's 'So You Think You're Funny?' competition in only his fifth ever gig. Since then, things have been pretty hectic…
Russell has been busy cementing his place as one of the hottest properties in comedy with his BBC6 Music show every Sunday, Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks on BBC2, Would I Lie To You? and Live At The Apollo on BBC1, Law of the Playground on Channel 4 and Tough Gig, The Brits and The British Comedy Awards on ITV
Russell also undertook to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End alongside various other television personalities including David Walliams, Jimmy Carr, Fearne Cotton, Davina McCall, Miranda Hart and Patrick Kielty.
At live gigs Russell really storms it. A complete sell out at Edinburgh 2004-2006, Russell sold every ticket of his 2007 run before the Festival had even started and couldn't add extra dates fast enough. His first nationwide solo tour of ‘if.comedy’ and Barry Award nominated show 'Wandering' was a complete sell out success.
His second solo tour 'Adventures' in Autumn 2007 was again a complete sell out including selling London's Bloomsbury Theatre out in a day before adding three extra sold out shows. Due to overwhelming demand, nineteen final extra dates were added to 'Adventures' for Spring 2008 including a sell out homecoming gig at Bristol's 1700 seater Colston Hall.
Russell started touring with his show 'Dingledodies' in September 2008. The tour was such as success that Russell extended the dates into 2009, and it was named 'Best Theatre Show' at the 2009 Chortle Comedy Awards.
In 2010 he played to over 58000 fans over 9 nights on his latest tour playing venues such as Wembley Area and the Manchester Evening News Arena.

Probably the best of a new generation of comics. His mind is as sharp as a witch’s nose and gags flow from him with the ease and Majesty of the river Nile
You'll find more laughs here than many comedians manage in an entire career.
An irrepressible enthusiasm, boundless confidence and super elasticised improvisational mind ensure he's on the cusp of a major breakthrough.
