"Wayne was a wonderful asset to the conference. During the day I was asking why they attended and he featured as a draw card every time. he resonates with our members and their style very well, plus he has the credibility. I am looking forward to anough time passing for us to invite him back. He received a rapturous applause at the end and really did a great job."

Wayne Hemingway, one of the UK's leading business figures, is co-founder of fashion label Red or Dead and HemingwayDesign.

With deeply insightful and perfectly honed business skills, Wayne offers audiences insights into entrepreneurship, creativity and moving onto new challenges, in his keynote speeches. With experiences that are as inspirational as they are entertaining, Wayne’s charisma and acumen leave audiences fulfilled and galvanised to make positive change.

Wayne’s offbeat upbringing (his dad is Billy Two Rivers, a Mohawk Indian wrestling champion, left the family when Wayne was 3, and his mother was a stylish fashion guru who dressed him eccentrically) created an affiliation with the ‘unusual’ – specifically fashion and design.

His no-nonsense Northern directness, partnered with his kooky punk style, encapsulates a rare and instinctive working ethos, and an unshakeable work ideology, all contribute to the enormous success of Red or Dead’s controversially playful street style.

"Excellent presenter. Told his story in an engaging, informative and entertaining way and scored top marks in customer feedback."

Starting out at a second hand fashion stall in Camden market and achieving every fashion designer’s dream of selling his company in a multi-million pound deal in 1999, Wayne created one of the strongest British brands of the 90s.

His follow-up business, HemingwayDesign, created innovative and ultimately iconic products including Pure’s “The Bug” radio, and Sky’s digital TV set-top digibox. With the strapline “adding something to people’s lives–without hurting their wallets,” his status as a household name has not been diminished in his post-Red or Dead era.

With Wayne, a Geography and Town Planning graduate, at the helm, Hemingway Design has also been successful as a creator of affordable low-cost housing, and Wayne has also been involved in many award-winning redevelopments of urban environments in Gateshead, Manchester and London, amongst other UK cities.

Working with house builder Wimpey in 2005 he created the Staithes South Bank, an 800-unit development In Gateshead, as well as The Birchin, an apartment block in Manchester which prioritised affordability for the residents over profitability.

Wayne’s determination to leave a legacy, along with his humour, passion, and brave design instincts, make him a unique business leader and a hugely popular keynote speaker.
