Alex Polizzi

Alex Polizzi comes from a long line of hoteliers - her mother, the hotel designer Olga Polizzi, is the sister of Sir Rocco Forte, and daughter of Lord Forte. Having always had the business in her family, it only seemed natural for Alex to continue in the hotel business. After becoming a successful hotelier Alex moved into the television industry.

Alex was famed for hosting the highly acclaimed show, The Hotel Inspector. Since this show hit our screens Alex has continued to impress viewers with her versatility, hosting The Fixer, Hire Our Heroes, Secret Italy and Chefs on Trial, she is an authority on the presenting circuit.

Her confident style and impassable success combine to establish Alex as the ideal motivational speaker, awards host and keynote speaker.

Born to hotel designer Olga Polizzi, CBE, and Count Alessandro Polizzi, an Italian marquess, Alex read English at Oxford University, and went on to train at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong. Her next career move was to work for Marco Pierre White at the Criterion, and then various Rocco Forte hotels around the world.

Before taking over and stamping their mark on the Endsleigh, Alex and Olga had already launched the highly praised Hotel Tresanton at St Mawes in Cornwall.

Alex specialises in helping failing businesses realise their mistakes and turn them into successes, her show The Fixer focuses on Alex helping to revive failing family businesses. The second series saw her return to the businesses to see how they had managed and if they had improved.

Having mastered television, she has delved into the literary world. Publishing Alex Polizzi's Little Black Book of Hotels, the hotelier has shared her advice on how to enjoy the very best hotels.
