Actor, writer and presenter of the Gadget Show and Bang Goes the Theory, Dallas Campbell is keen to popularise science and he is a superb awards host for corporate events.

Dallas Campbell's curiosity and original mind have led him to become one of television’s freshest and funniest talents. In 2008 he joined The Gadget Show team on Five where his exploits included testing out a jet powered luge, the latest survival gadgets and breaking the Scalextric land speed record.

Dallas presented BBC1 science series - Bang Goes The Theory - a Tomorrow's World type programme with a hands-on approach and encouraging everyone to join in at home and online.  He co-presented the programme with Liz Bonnin , Jem Stansfield and Dr Yam Wong.

His passion for popularising science and for investigating the weirder areas of life, the universe and everything, have taken Dallas from a background in theatre and film work into researching, writing and presenting authored documentaries for television.

In 2007 he went to Los Angeles to work with RJ Cutler’s company, ARP, on his own humorous investigative series, Dallas in Wonderland for The Discovery Channel. The ultimate layman’s guide to achieving the impossible, it sees Dallas trying to have a crack at things that laymen aren’t supposed to be able to do: going into space, breaking the men’s 100m record, or journeying to the centre of the Earth, for example.

Dallas studied English and Drama before becoming an actor, and in his varied career on stage, film and TV, his roles have included Atilla, Moll Flanders, Doomwatch and Family Affairs. His theatre work brought him together with legendary comic maverick Ken Campbell on a variety of hair-brained projects, most notably The Warp – The 29 hour ‘Fortean’ epic which made it into the Guinness Book of Records as the world longest (and possibly oddest) play. He works regularly with acclaimed filmmaker Emily James on projects as diverse as Channel 4’s puppet-driven consumer show Don’t Worry, and the multi award winning musical documentary A Brief History of Cuba in D minor.

Dallas co-wrote and directed the award-winning comedy short film No Deposit No Return about a sperm bank raid. It was premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival as part of the UK Film Council’s best short film selection.

In 2015, Dallas won Celebrity Mastermind, with filmmaker Werner Herzog as his specialist subject.

In June 2016, Campbell presented a three-part documentary for the BBC called City in the Sky, exploring the hidden world of aviation.

Dallas is experienced working in a live environment. He has hosted countless road-shows with the BGTT team, and has worked on many other science events, including the monthly Science Museum Lates.

He is available for a variety of corporate work including awards hosting, conference facilitating, presenting in-house corporate DVDs, or anything gadget, technology or science related! Corporate clients include Samsung, Schmick TV and Party Poker.
