Daily Telegraph cartoon Alex, has won a Sony Academy Award for Best Use of Branded Content. Alex Masterley on Classic FM – a 10–week radio show that was part of a re–brand campaign – took home the gong from the UK radio industry’s ‘Oscars’, which took place at Grosvenor House in London.
Alex Masterley, played by Cold Feet’s Robert Bathurst, is a city institution. The cartoon about life in the City of London appears every day on the front page of the Daily Telegraph Business Section.
The Sony judges said “This was superb: inventive, engaging and a truly original way of branding content. Beautifully written, perfectly voiced and targeted. It was funny, intelligent, interesting and informative”.
