Bear Grylls Travels Transylvania

9 May 2011

Prepare for tension and thrills  as acclaimed explorer and motivational speaker  Bear Grylls  braves the rugged landscape of the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania, Romania in an adventure documentary on the Discovery Channel.

This episode of Born Survivor sees the former soldier exploring the area's forests before heading underground to follow a subterranean river. Along the way he encounters a ferocious predator, slides down treacherous gorges and climbs limestone cliffs, feeding on snails, trout and apples found in a pile of bear droppings.

After breaking his back in three places in a parachuting accident, Bear fought his way to recovery, and two years later entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest, aged only 23. He has since led ground-breaking expeditions across the world.
